Their Adoption Process:
California law requires that all adopted dogs and cats be spayed or neutered before leaving our animal shelters. The pets featured on our web page are available for adoption on first come first serve basis. We do not guarantee that pets seen on our web page will be available to adopt when you arrive at the animal shelter. The County of Riverside Animal Services does not reserve pets for adoption by telephone or e-mail. You must come to the shelter to adopt an animal and refer to the animal's pet identification number (PID) when inquiring about a particular pet.
The adoption fee for dogs is $105, which includes the animal's spay/neuter surgery, a microchip and vaccinations. It is state law to have a dog license. The dog owner is required to purchase a dog license (a dog license for residents in Riverside and unincorporated Riverside County areas is $16).
As of November 2011 until further notice, all cat adoptions are $15. The cat adoption includes spay/neuter surgery, a microchip and vaccinations. Cats are not required to have a license in Riverside County.
