Builder Confidence Hits 11-Year High

Builder Confidence Hits 11-Year High - In many areas of the country, there are not enough homes for sale to satisfy the number of buyers looking to purchase their dream homes. Experts have long proposed that a ramp-up in new, single-family home construction would be one of the many ways to overcome this inventory shortage.

According to a recent survey conducted by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and Wells Fargo, housing market confidence amongst builders reached an 11-year high last month.

What Does High Confidence Mean for the Housing Market?

In a recent interview, Rob Dietz, Chief Economist and SVP for NAHB, put it this way:

“Higher market confidence will translate into more building and more inventory in 2017. We expect single-family construction to grow 10 percent next year.”

With 2016 marking the best year in real estate sales in over a decade, a 10 percent ramp-up in single-family construction will only aid in making 2017 an even greater year.

According to the latest US Census data, sales of newly constructed homes were up 3.7% over January 2016 as they reached a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 555,000. Dietz went on to comment:

“We can expect further growth in new home sales throughout the year, spurred on by employment gains and a rise in household formations. As the supply of existing homes remains tight, more consumers will turn to new construction.”

With the weather and the real estate market heating up this spring, there will be a surge of new construction coming to the market soon.

Sky Country Jurupa Valley - Sky Country is a small neighborhood located in the semi-urban community that is Mira Loma. It became part of the city of Jurupa Valley when it was voted to be incorporated into the city in 2011. 

Schools - Sky Country is a wonderful place to raise a family, with and an assortment of schools. Mira Loma Middle School, the local intermediate school. Jurupa Valley High School is just outside of Sky Country. The public high school offers various sports and activities. 

What Is There To Do - There are two enormous shopping centers just across the 15 freeway from Sky Country. The centers have stores that provide necessities to the neighborhood, such as Target, Home Depot, and Vons. The shopping center also provides department-like stores that one might find in a mall, like TJ Maxx, Home Goods, Tilly’s, Sports Chalet, Famous Footwear, and even beauty stores like Ulta. The shopping center is also very popular because it provides entertainment. Edwards Eastvale Gateway Stadium 14 is located in the center, providing a variety of new movies in large theaters.  

  Eats - Just outside the theater lies a courtyard, where people like to relax, and enjoy a dessert of frozen yogurt or from the Nestle Tollhouse. The shopping center would definitely not be complete without a variation of restaurants, with many to choose for every occasion and everyone’s different tastes and interests. The Food Court section part of the center has common and delicious foods like the Habit for burgers, and Dickey’s for barbecue. There are also more formal restaurants such as Johnny Carino’s and Applebee’s. There is even a more offbeat collection of restaurants in the corner of the shopping center: Zip Fusion Sushi, Thai Bamboo Café, and Pho Viet. These varieties of Asian cuisines demonstrate some of the cultural diversity in the area and give people the opportunity to experiment and try something new. But Mira Loma even has its own sets of restaurants and stores on the east side of the 15 freeway. It has small restaurants like Steer n Stein and has a few authentic Mexican shops that are popular for the meat and chicken that they sell. Nearby there are also establishments such as the Glen Avon Library.   

  Community - Over the past years, Mira Loma has become an ideal place to live. With expansion and progress in Southern California moving South and coming our way, that can only mean improvements and development for Jurupa Valley. But even the way that the area is, it is a reasonable distance from both Los Angeles and San Diego, but it provides an escape from the metropolitan life, by maintaining a balance between urban and rural. If contemplating on moving into the Sky Country community, it is important to consider the assets for schools, entertainment, the community itself, and development. And while development is spreading towards the area, Sky Country will maintain its spirit that is central to the community.
